How do I
order a Virtual Server? |
- You can order a new
Server by completing the online order form at our web
site (Secure
Order Form).
| 4.2) |
How do I
switch my current site from another provider to BWSD? |
- The first step to
switch an existing web site from your current provider
to BWSD is to simply order a new Virtual Server using
our online order form (Secure
Order Form). Once the Server has been ordered, you
will receive a DNS Modification Request Form from BWSD
or be conteacted regarding your transfer by email. You
should then forward this Modification Request Form to
InterNIC (specific instructions will be included with
the form). Unfortunately, we cannot process this request
for you since we will likely not be listed as one of the
official contacts for your domain name, therefore the
change request for an existing DNS name MUST by done by
the customer. You can use the time during which InterNIC
is processing the DNS modification to transfer your web
content to your new Virtual Server.

How do I
register a domain name and how long does it take? |
- Registering the .com,
.net, and .org top level domain names typically takes
one to two business days. BWSD will assist you in
registering your domain name when you order a new
Virtual Server. You can also register a domain name
directly with InterNIC by going to InterNIC's
registration site located at
http://rs.internic.net/cgi-bin/domain.
If you register the name with InterNIC yourself, you
will want to enter the following Technical Contact and
nameserver information into the form:
Technical Contact NIC
Handle: BH6380
Primary Nameserver:
ns1.bwsd.com (192.41.1.247)
Secondary Nameserver:
ns2.bwsd.com (161.58.9.173)
BWSD recommends that
you let us do the domain registration for you, unless
you are familiar with the procedure. Delays typically
caused by improperly filled out templates and mailing
procedures can stretch into days.

How do I have
an additional domain name added to an existing Server? |
-
You can do this easily
by emailing (serviceNoSpamForMe@web-design.net),
with your account name along with the primary domain
name and IP number of the server you wish to have the
domain name added to.
If you want BWSD to register the domain, be sure to
include that request, otherwise, we will simply add
the domain to our zone file, and the domain will not
be registered. If it is a transferred domain, be sure
to include a request to initialize a transfer to our
nameservers from the INTERNIC, otherwise the same
thing will happen.
If you are requesting BWSD to register the domain
name that you wish to have added, be sure to include
all information the InterNIC requires,
(Company/Organization/Individual the domain is being
registered to, and full address; full name, address,
email, and phone contact information of both the
Administrative and Billing Contacts for the domain).
BWSD cannot process a domain name registration or
transfer request without this information. If you know
the NIC Contact Handle for either the Billing or the
Administrative Contact to be used, you may include
that in lieue of full information.
There is a one time $30 set up charge to have a new
domain name added to an existing Server.
| 4.5) |
How long does
it take to setup a new Virtual Server? |
- For clients in good
standing, a new Virtual Server request will be honored,
processed, and setup within one business day (in most
cases the account will be setup within a few hours). New
accounts for first time customers typically take one to
two business days while we verify billing information
and secure signed agreements.
| 4.6) |
How do I add
additional features to an existing Virtual Server? |
- You can add additional
feature to your Virtual Server (SSL, extra space,
Cybercash, etc) by emailing (serviceNoSpamForMe@web-design.net).
After you have requested new products be added to an
existing server, you will receive an invoice via email
reflecting the changes made to your Virtual Server.
